Bra Making Mentorship FAQs

How long will I have access to the course?

All materials can be downloaded, which means you have lifetime access to the materials. You will have digital access to the course site until March 31, 2023 (September 30, 2022 for Part 1 only).

What if I can't make the live sessions?

All live session will be recorded so that you can watch them at a time that is convenient for you. Any questions you have can be asked in the Facebook community group.

Can I receive a certificate for the course?

Yes! I offer a certificate upon successful completion of the course. Once you're in the course, be sure to look at the Certificate Path section for details.

Can I sign up for Part 2 only?

No, Part 1 is a prerequisite for Part 2. It's critical to have a solid foundation of bra theory and fit, and have a structurally sound sloper bra in order to embark on the creative journey offered in Part 2.

If I only sign up for Part 1, can I join Part 2 later?

Of course! Getting a good foundation is most important, but if you later find you want to explore your creative side, you are welcome to continue. I will offer the option to Part 1 Only students in June to continue with the course.

What will the course schedule be like?

Each month you will receive instructions for a project based on the live class, handouts, self-reflection prompts, and bonus materials and videos

  • 1st week live class
  • 2nd week one-on-one fit sessions
  • 3rd week small group sessions
  • 4th week one-on-one fit sessions

There will be a variety of times available for both one-on-one and small group sessions to fit your scheduling and time zone needs.

What technology will be required?

Good internet access that supports the use of YouTube, Zoom, and Facebook, handouts will be in pdf format. The course will be hosted on the Teachable platform, which only requires internet access.

What is the cost of materials and supplies for the course?

You will need a good sewing machine that can sew knits and elastics, but it certainly doesn't need to be top model (I use a little 400 series Brother that cost $250). You will also need other basic sewing supplies, like scissors and thread, and I will tell you about all my favorite things in our first session. But not to worry! I don't use anything special and am not really a "tool" girl, so you can keep costs low. With the exception of the first few kits that you will purchase at Bra Builders, you can use your stash. However, I've also teamed with Bra Builders so you will receive a site-wide 15% off discount during the entire course.

How much time does this course take?

I am expecting this course to take 1–3 hours a week. I know many people are busy and with that in mind, I have intentionally organized the course in a way that is not overwhelming. However, you will get the most out of this course if you consistently devote time to it every week.
